Switching to Yamoreh

Moving from Canvas, Moodle or Google Classroom

If your classes run in an online classroom today, there are two parts to moving: your grades and records, which matter most, and your course materials, which are optional.

1Grades first

Export each course's gradebook as a spreadsheet, so final grades from past terms come across onto student records. Every one of these classrooms can export its gradebook.

2From Canvas

In each course, go to Settings, then Export Course Content, choose Course, and download the file it makes (it ends in .imscc). Send us one file per course.

3From Moodle

Make a course backup of each course and download it (the file ends in .mbz). Leave out student work and user data unless you want it moved; the course materials are enough.

4From Google Classroom

Each teacher can download their classes, posts and materials with Google Takeout, choosing Classroom. Class files also sit in the teacher's Google Drive, in the Classroom folder.

5What comes across

Send us the export files and we'll go through what's in them with you. Pages, files and assignment instructions can be brought into the course's Modules; quizzes and anything else that doesn't carry over cleanly, we list for the instructor to set up.

Many instructors take the chance to start fresh instead. Courses built in Yamoreh roll into the next term with their dates shifted, so it's a one-time job.

6Next step

Look over the checklist, then book a call.
