Switching to Yamoreh

Moving from Populi

Populi and Yamoreh keep much the same records: people, programs, courses, terms, enrollments and grades. Moving is mostly a matter of exporting them and mapping them across.

1Exporting from Populi

Populi lets staff export lists and reports to spreadsheets. On our first call we'll go through exactly which exports to pull for your school. They usually cover:

  • People: students with their contact details and student IDs
  • Academic records: each student's courses, terms, grades and credits
  • Programs, degrees and their requirements
  • The course catalog
  • The current term's classes, instructors and enrollments

Documents stored on student records can come across too; we'll agree how on the call.

2How it maps

Student IDs are kept, so students and staff can still look people up by the numbers they know. Your grading scale and grade points are set up the same, and the check report compares every student's grade point average with Populi's and explains any difference.

The check report lists anything that doesn't line up before go-live.

3When to switch

Between terms is easiest. Run the new term in Yamoreh, and keep your Populi access until the term ends so anyone can look something up.

Mind your Populi renewal date when you plan the move.

4What changes on cost

Populi charges a monthly base plus a fee for every student; Yamoreh charges one flat price by enrollment band. See Yamoreh vs Populi for what a school your size pays with each.

Look over the checklist, then book a call.
